Issue
Starting with Microsoft IIS 6.0, default installations recycle worker processes after a pre-configured amount of time. This causes the TASKE web application to lose its session state which in turn logs TASKE users out of the application.
Solution
The TASKE web application should be configured to not recycle worker processes. Follow the following procedure to assign TASKE to a non-recycling application pool:
- Open the Internet Information Services window by selecting it from the Windows Control Panel, within the Administrative Tools folder
- Locate the Application Pools node in the tree:
Internet Information Services\<Computer Name> (local computer)\Application Pools- Create a new application pool by right-clicking the Application Pools node and selecting New, Application Pool
- Enter TASKEAppPool as the Application pool ID, and then click OK
- Right-click the TASKEAppPool and select Properties
- On the Recycling tab, deselect the Recycle worker processes (in minutes) checkbox
- On the Performance tab, verify that the Maximum number of worker processes is set to 1, and then click OK.
- Locate the TASKE website node in the tree:
Internet Information Services\<Computer Name> (local computer)\Web Sites\Default Web Sites\TASKE - Right-click and select Properties of the TASKE website
- On the Virtual Directory tab, in the Application pool drop list, select TASKEAppPool, and then click OK.
