Java 8 License Information
Oracle Java SE releases starting April 16, 2019 require a license to be purchased from Oracle in order to use Java SE as part of any business operations.
Alternatives include:
- Amazon Corretto 8 – no-cost, production-ready distribution of the Open Java Development Kit
- Windows installation instructions
- After installation, the standard Desktop shortcut will launch Desktop
- Oracle OpenJDK 8 (32-bit) or 11 (64-bit) – released under the open-source GNU General Public License is free to all users
- Download and unzip onto your machine – 32-bit v8 Windows zip or 64-bit v11 Windows zip
