How to Back Up or Migrate TASKE

Information on how to use the Support Packager or manually backup your TASKE data.

Summary

All the files the TASKE server uses are contained in the TASKE data directory (refer to your documentation to locate them). The following describes which files on the server are important to backup. You may either use the Support Packager feature of the TASKE Console or manually pick the files to back up.

If you must migrate the TASKE installation to a new computer or virtual machine, you can maintain your settings and data files by moving these backed-up files to the new computer.

Create a backup zip file

  1. Open the TASKE Console.
  2. From the Tools menu, select Support Packager.
  3. Select the dates for which you want to backup your telephone system records.
  4. Click Save Local. You will be prompted for a location to save the zip file. By default, it assigns a file name that consists of your lock number, a dash, and today’s date in YYMMDD format.
  5. Click Save to create the .zip file.

Manually back up or move your TASKE files

Refer to your TASKE documentation to locate the TASKE data folder on the TASKE server computer.

SiteData\Local\SMDR\Your historical call data.

Install on New Server

You will require a new license key if you are not using a TASKE hardware lock. Contact support for assistance.

Otherwise, run the TASKE installation wizard and then place your backed-up files in the corresponding locations on the new server.
