Summary

Use this article to troubleshoot a missing or relocated toolbox.cde file. The toolbox.cde file holds all of the telephone system resource information, configuration settings, and the TASKE lock number. If the Information Server cannot locate this file on startup, a licensing error will occur, preventing the Information Server from starting.

Issue

When attempting to start the Information Server, the following error displays:

Could not load licensing information. Check log file for details.

The log file in TASKE Administrator contains the following entry:

E,11,20031118,16:08:17,Could not load local database for validation
(hr=80030002)

Reason

The Information Server cannot locate the toolbox.cde file. This file may have been deleted or relocated to another network location. By default the toolbox.cde file is located in the TASKE installation folder at: \sitedata\local.

Solution

The recommended solution depends on whether the toolbox.cde file was deleted or relocated. Refer to the appropriate solution below.

The toolbox.cde File was Deleted

If the toolbox.cde file was deleted and there is no backup available, contact TASKE technical support. A technical support representative must email an empty toolbox.cde file to the site. After receiving the file, the site administrator for TASKE applications must populate the file using the TASKE Database Update Wizard and TASKE Administrator.

The toolbox.cde File was Moved to Another Network Location

A site administrator may choose to relocate the toolbox.cde file and all data folders (\sitedata\local) to another network location. For instance, to a location that is on a routine backup schedule. If the toolbox.cde file is moved to another network location, the TASKE IP Address Configuration Wizard must be used to point the Information Server to the new location. To open the wizard, select Network Settings from the Tools menu of Console.

Follow the instructions in the wizard to complete the configuration. When complete, start the Information Server to confirm that the application starts and the new settings are correct.

Note: when the wizard refers to the TASKE database, it is referring to the toolbox.cde file.
