Showing a Website in TASKE DisplayCentral

Last Updated: 24-Oct-2019

Issue

You can show a website as a component in TASKE DisplayCentral. For example, you may want to display your corporate website, along with the components that display information of specific interest to your contact center. However, older web browsers lack features that support today’s advanced websites, including HTML5.

Certain editions of Windows use older versions of Microsoft Internet Explorer as the default web browser.  As a result, advanced websites may not display properly in DisplayCentral.

Solution

Modify the Windows Registry to allow DisplayCentral to use a newer web browser.

Use the following steps:

  1. Open the Windows Registry Editor.
  2. Browse to the appropriate key for your environment:
    • 64-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\WOW6432Node\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION
    • 32-bit Windows:
      HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main\FeatureControl\FEATURE_BROWSER_EMULATION

Note: If you are not sure whether to use 32-bit or 64-bit registry keys, create the DWORD values described in steps 3 to 6 in both branches. Refer to Article 10184 for more information about 32-bit and 64-bit Windows.

  3. Create a DWORD value named ttdcntrl.exe
  4. Double-click the value.
  5. Select Decimal and enter one of the following values, depending on the Internet Explorer version you plan to use:
    • Internet Explorer 8: 8000
    • Internet Explorer 10: 10000
    • Internet Explorer 11: 11000
  6. Repeat steps 3 to 5 to create a DWORD value named ttdcdsgn.exe, and assign the Internet Explorer value.
