|Important: the solution this article presents instructs users to assign the TASKE Add-On server to a network domain account. Be advised that upgrading the TASKE product will reinstate the default settings and return the Add-On Server to the local system guest account. After the upgrade is complete, the Add-On Server must again be assigned to a network domain account or users will experience problems printing to network printers again.|
Users of TASKE web applications have the option of printing reports to a network printer. If the TASKE Add-On Server does not have sufficient network access rights users may receive an error message indicating that printing has failed or a log file entry indicating that a default printer has not been configured.
When manually printing reports from a TASKE web application to a network printer, the reports do not print and the following error message displays:
The specified options in <Report Name> for the selected date, <date> resulted in a template that could not be printed remotely.
Click OK to return to the ‘Prepare To Print’ page.
When scheduled reports attempt to automatically print from a TASKE web application to a network printer, the reports do not print and the following log entry displays in the TASKE Administrator log:
W,44,20050715,15:46:05,ttsvrsv: No default printer has been configured.
Reports will not print to the network printer because the the TASKE Add-On Server is assigned to the local system guest account instead of a network domain account. By default the Add-On server is assigned to the local system guest account during the TASKE server installation.
Assign the TASKE Add-On server to a network domain account. TASKE recommends creating a generic network domain account specifically for TASKE services and assigning the TASKE Add-On Server to this account.
Refer to the Microsoft® documentation for instruction on creating network domain accounts for your operating system and for instruction on adding services, such as the TASKE Add-On Server, to a network domain account.
