Summary
TASKE Contact report templates can include a schedule to automatically print, email, or export reports at a specific time, on selected days of the week. The schedule allows for the selection of any or all days of the week, but only one time of day. If the site requires the reports to print, email, or export more frequently, the schedule for the template must be edited through the TASKE Report Generator in the Microsoft® Windows Scheduled Tasks folder.
Issue
The site requires reports that automatically print, email, or export at specific intervals throughout the day.
Reason
When creating a report template in TASKE Contact Reports, the schedule to automatically print, email, or export reports can only be set to run once a day.
Solution
Important: the schedule created with the TASKE Report Generator applies to all report templates created on the computer. Any template scheduled to automatically print, email, or export will do so according to this schedule.
The TASKE Report Generator provides advanced settings that allow a task to repeat at specific intervals throughout the day. After scheduling a report to automatically print, export, or email in TASKE Reports, use the TASKE Report Generator to enhance the schedule.
Open the Scheduled Tasks folder in the Control Panel and double-click TASKE Report Generator to open the TASKE Report Generator window.
In the Run field of the Task tab, make the appropriate change for the computer:
TASKE client computer - change the -a to -at.
TASKE server computer - change the -f to -f -at
The -at in these commands tells the Reports application to generate new summary files each time the task runs. The reports are generated from these summaries and generating new summary files each time means the reports always include the latest information.
Select the Schedule tab to view the current schedule settings. Alter these settings as required.
To change the schedule to print, email, or export reports at specific intervals throughout the day, click the Advanced button on the Schedule tab. Enable the Repeat task check box. Set the desired interval. For instance, every 3 hours. Next, set the stop time or duration for the task. Set a stop time to have the task stop at a specific time each day, such as the end of the business day. Set a duration to have the task continue for a specific number of hours.
Save the settings and close the TASKE Report Generator window.
