Summary

This article explains why ODBC files cause an ODBC DLL resource version error when TASKE Administrator launches and how to update these files to eliminate the error message.

Issue

The following message displays when launching TASKE Administrator:

The ODBC resource DLL (win\system32\odbcint.dll) is a different version than the <ODBC component name> (win\system32\<filename.dll>).

Reason

The computer has one or more version mismatched ODBC files. This probably happened during the installation of an application that installs ODBC components. During this installation, one or more ODBC files were in use, preventing the files from being overwritten with the newer versions. The result is version mismatched files.

Solution

To eliminate this error, download and install the latest version of the Microsoft® Data Access Components (MDAC) from the Microsoft web site. The download location for MDAC is:
