Summary
Upgrading from the TASKE ACD ToolBox Version 8.1 to TASKE Contact Version 8.5 may inadvertently alter some database settings. When users are suddenly forced to log into TASKE applications after upgrading to version 8.5, it means the Access Control feature was enabled during the upgrade. This feature allows a system administrator to control database access on a per user basis, requiring each user to have a user name and password and log into TASKE applications. This article explains the process for disabling this feature and gaining access to TASKE applications.
Note: Access Control may not be the only database setting affected. Refer to article 10067: Checking Database Settings after Upgrading to TASKE Contact Version 8.5 for information on other database settings that may be affected.
Issue
TASKE applications are prompting users to log in after upgrading to TASKE Contact Version 8.5 and preventing access because there are no user names or passwords defined.
Reason
Access Control was enabled during the upgrade installation of TASKE Contact Version 8.5. This issue is rectified in TASKE Contact Version 8.5, Build 2204 and later.
Solution
Email the database file (toolbox.cde), with a subject line of Database Conversion, to the TASKE Technical Support department at:
This file is usually located in the \\TASKE8\sitedata\local folder on the TASKE server computer.
After emailing the file, please contact TASKE Technical Support at:
1.877.778.2753
The technical support representative will confirm receipt of the file and provide a time estimate for its return. When TASKE receives the database file, the Access Control feature will be disabled and the file returned via email.
