Summary
This article documents the steps for uninstalling version 8.0 or version 8.1 of the TASKE ACD ToolBox server and client software before upgrading to TASKE Contact version 8.5.
Issue
Before upgrading TASKE ACD ToolBox version 8.0 or version 8.1 to TASKE Contact version 8.5, all TASKE components and registry settings must be removed from all server and client computers.
Reason
The TASKE ACD ToolBox uninstall utility included with versions 8.0 and 8.1 does not completely remove all components and registry settings. The result is the possible generation of errors during the TASKE Contact version 8.5 upgrade installation, preventing the complete installation of the software.
Solution
Use the following steps to remove all TASKE components and registry entries on the TASKE server or client computer. After completing these steps proceed with the installation of TASKE Contact version 8.5.

Before proceeding with the removal of TASKE components and registry entries, backup all TASKE data. For instruction on backing up TASKE data, refer to knowlege base article 10016: Backing Up TASKE Data.

From the Microsoft Windows® Control Panel, use the Add / Remove Programs utility to uninstall all TASKE applications.

Next, perform the automatic or manual removal of the system registry entries and folders. Click one of the links below to view the desired instructions.
Recommended

Manually remove registry entries and folders: complete this task manually using the Windows Registry Editor and Explorer. This method is recommended for advanced Windows users only.
Automatically Removing Registry Entries and Folders - Recommended for all users
Use the following steps to use the ticlean utility to automatically remove system registry entries and folders related to TASKE. Please note that running this utility does not modify or remove TASKE data stored in the SiteData folder.

Click the Download link below to begin downloading the ticlean.exe file.
Download -
Click Open in the File Download dialog box to start the ticlean.exe utility.
Note: in some versions of Windows you may have to enable the Run this program from its current location radio button and click OK. -
Follow the prompts to remove the registry entries and folders.

Click Finish to close the utility.

Restart the computer.
Manually Removing Registry Entries and Folders - For advanced Windows users only
Use the following steps to use the system registry and Windows Explorer to manually remove TASKE related system registry entries and folders.

From the Windows desktop, click Run... from the Start menu to open the Run dialog box.

Type regedit in the Open field and click OK to open the Windows Registry Editor.

Browse to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Uninstall
Delete all of the following registry keys (all may not be present):

Browse to the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\SharedDLLs
Delete all entries that reference files in the folder where TASKE server or client applications were installed. This may be: -
Version 8.0 Servers: C:\TASKE 8.0

Version 8.1 Servers: C:\TASKE8

Client Computers: C:\Program Files\TASKE Technology

Browse to the following registry key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE
Delete the TASKE Technology registry key. -
Close the Windows Registry Editor.

Open Windows Explorer.

Browse to the \\Program Files\InstallShield Installation Information folder.

Delete all of the following subfolders (all folders may not be present):
