Article 10047: Backing up TASKE Databases
| Products: | TASKE Contact version 8 |
| Applications: | Administrator |
| Telephone systems: | All |
Summary
Once you have successfully set up and configured your databases using the TASKE Administrator, you may want to make a backup of the database(s) in case changes are made that need to be undone. The following allows you to backup the Administrator database, the WallSign database and the Voice Toolbox database.
To use TASKE Administrator to create a backup of your databases, in Configuration mode, click the Utilities button. In the Support Packager section of the page, click Create Package. If you have WallSign and Voice ToolBox installed, check the options at the bottom of the dialog. Click Build Package. Note that you do not have to include any PBX dates for this backup. By default the application saves a .zip file in the TASKE8 file folder and assigns a file name that consists of your lock number, a dash, and today’s date in YYMMDD format. Please record the file name so you can locate it easily later. Click Save to accept the default settings and create the .zip file.
The created .zip file will include the TASKE database files and can be restored by extracting its contents to the following locations:
| Database | File name | Destination |
| Administrator | toolbox.cde | C:\TASKE8\SiteData\Local |
| WallSign | *.sgn files | C:\TASKE8\SignData |
| Voice ToolBox | vtbxdb.cde | C:\TASKE8\VoiceData |
Note the above table assumes you installed TASKE in the default directory of C:\TASKE8.
