TASKE Technology Knowledge Base
Products: TASKE Contact
      version 8.1 and previous
Applications: Information Server
Telephone systems: All
Print
Update: Please note TASKE Contact version 8.5 does not require a static IP Address.

Summary

TASKE requires that all servers be assigned a static IP address. Windows 2000 does not load TCP/IP unless the NIC is plugged into a powered hub.

To ensure that TCP/IP is indeed loaded, click the Windows Start menu. Click the Run menu item. In the field type cmd. A Command Prompt window will open. In this window, type ipconfig.

If there is no connection you will receive the following message:

Windows 2000 IP Configuration
Ethernet adapter Local Area Connection:
     Media State . . . . . . . . . . . . : Cable Disconnected

If everything is connected correctly, you will receive the following message:

Windows 2000 IP Configuration

     IP Address . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .: ###.###.###.###
