Issue
The user may receive the "Java is either disabled or not present. Java is required by TASKE web applications." message when trying to login. This message may appear when Java has been installed and enabled.
Reason
Before proceeding to the login page, an unsigned Java applet attempts to start which checks the client version and vendor of Java. Security enhancements to Internet Explorer (IE) prevents unsigned Java applets from starting unless the web site is a member of trusted sites.
Solution
This issue affects Windows XP SP2, 2003 SP1 & R2. Adding the
web site to the list of trusted sites accessed by IE will fix the
problem. For more information on IE security zones refer to
MS
Article 174360: How to use security zones in Internet Explorer.
