Summary
This article provides instruction for using Microsoft® Windows Remote Desktop Connection to remotely manage TASKE server computers that are running Windows XP Professional.
Important: when using Remote Desktop Connection, the remote user must log into the TASKE server computer with the SAME user account that is currently logged into the TASKE server computer.
Issue
Physical access to the TASKE server computer is limited or after-hours administration tasks are required.
Solution
Remote Desktop Connection is a Windows application that allows a user to remotely log into and operate other computers. To remotely manage a TASKE server computer that is running Windows XP Professional, launch Remote Desktop Connection and log into the TASKE server computer with the SAME user account that is currently logged into that computer. Logging into the computer with a different user account will log off the current user and close all open applications, including the TASKE server applications required for data collection.
