Summary

An incorrect configuration of the TASKE web server computer can impede or prevent web client connections to the server. Common symptoms of an incorrect configuration are the inability to sign into a web application or real-time applets failing to update. The TASKE Connectivity Applet provides the tools to quickly test the validity of the client-server connection, including connections through a firewall.

Note: as of version 8.5.3072.0 of TASKE applications, the TASKE Connectivity Applet is installed with the TASKE web services. If the site is using a TASKE application with the built in Connectivity applet, this article is not required. Continue to Article 10117: Using the TASKE Connectivity Applet to Test Web Client Connectivity to TASKE Server Components for instruction on using the applet.

Installing the TASKE Connectivity Applet

The TASKE Connectivity Applet is available for download from the TASKE FTP site and must be installed on the TASKE web server computer. Download the applet for the web application the site is using by clicking one of the following links.

TASKE Reporter:

connect.myTASKE.zip
TASKE Essential: connect.essential.zip

Extract the files in the .zip file to the web server computer and install the Connectivity Applet by launching Setup.exe.
