TASKE Ushers in 2004 with a Suite of New Products for Mitel Networks Telephone Switches

Ottawa, Ontario, 8 January 2004 - Today TASKE Technology Inc. announced the availability of a number of new products for the Mitel Networks™ 3300 Integrated Communications Platform (ICP) and Mitel Networks SX-2000® with MiTAI 11.1.

These new products use the MiTAI (Mitel Networks Telephony Application Interface) link exclusively, eliminating the need for the ACD and SMDR event streams and their corresponding data sets. The applications that are now available are TASKE Contact and two new applications - TASKE Essential, and myTASKETM Reporter.

TASKE Contact is the company's flagship product, offering full ACD monitoring and historical reporting for the Contact Center. Among other enhancements, this version offers a web portal for access to real-time data and TASKE's new advanced cradle-to-grave search tool, Call Visualizer.

myTASKE Reporter is a new web-based reporting only solution for the Contact Center. It includes all the current TASKE reports plus Call Visualizer. myTASKE Reporter does not provide any real time agent or queue monitoring.

TASKE Essential is TASKE's newest employee resource management application. Web-based, this monitoring and historical reporting product is intended for the general business environment. It provides the ability to monitor employee telephone usage in real time and report on extensions, departments, and trunks. It also includes Call Visualizer for detailed call analysis.

According to David Blackburn, TASKE's Vice President Business Development, "We are extremely excited about these new releases. While TASKE has always provided robust and innovative solutions to the Mitel Networks channel, these new products represent the next wave of call management applications, raising the bar ever higher."

By interfacing with the 3300 ICP or SX-2000 (with ApSU) via the MiTAI link, TASKE is able to offer the following new features and benefits to Mitel end-customers:

  • Called and calling numbers are displayed in the real-time ACD Monitor for ACD, non-ACD, and intercom calls
  • TASKE's Call Visualizer provides a single integrated search capability, eliminating the need to separately search on ACD and SMDR data
  • The total cost of ownership (TCO) is reduced as no SMDR and ACD data sets are required
  • TCO is further reduced as the Real-time Event Option is no longer required to be enabled on the switch
  • The use of the embedded MiTAI runtime libraries ensures a robust active monitoring interface rather than capturing multiple separate passive data sources.
  • MiTAI's two-way link to the switch creates a foundation for future product enhancements

The move to Mitel Networks latest embedded MiTAI runtime license means the new TASKE products do not require the purchase of additional MiTAI Runtimes from Mitel Networks (as previously required for older MiTAI integrated products). The embedded MiTAI runtime communicates directly to the MiTAI server on the 3300 ICP. For SX-2000 users purchase of the Mitel Networks Application Services Unit (ApSU) is required (ApSU contains the MiTAI server and provides connectivity between the SX2000 running LW 32 1.1 or above, and the TCP/IP network).

TASKE Technology is a Level 2 member of Mitel's MiSolutions Network 3rd party provider program (MiSN) which assisted in the development of these new applications. "MiSN offered significant advantages when it came time to develop using the MiTAI Application Programming Interface", says Blackburn. "It's an excellent program that will continue to enable innovative companies to expand the availability of enhanced solutions such as these to Mitel Networks global customer base."

"Mitel Networks has some of the richest Application Programming Interfaces and protocols in the industry. We are pleased to see MiSN Member companies such as TASKE Technology embracing and utilizing the sophisticated feature sets we provide in our latest API development kits", notes Trevor Brown of Mitel Networks MiSN Program Management team.

Currently undergoing beta trials, TASKE's MiTAI interfaced solutions will be available for general release in late January.
